LMU freshman Carla Arellano, who recently joined the university, received a full four-year scholarship to the Jesuit institution. Gal emphasized the importance of empowering the next generation of female leaders by recognizing their strength and resilience.

According to Gal, these women have faced numerous challenges in their lives but remain determined to achieve more, making them the true leaders of tomorrow.
Praising the undergraduate student receiving the honor, Gal described her as strong-minded, opinionated, and gutsy, with a passion for screenwriting that has already left a lasting impression on those who know her, including her fellow mentees, professors, and everyone in the room who has had the pleasure of meeting her.

“She wouldn’t be able to stay at LMU without this financial support [and] like numerous other impressive young women in this initiative, her academic journey is in jeopardy,” the celebrity emphasized.

“I had a feeling something was going on! You guys are tricky!” she exclaimed to Gal and producer Laurie, who served as her guide and mentor.

Recently, Gal chatted with comedian Kumail Nanjiani, known for his role in The Big Sick, for Variety’s ‘Actors on Actors’ issue. Nanjiani asked Gal about her experience playing the iconic Amazon.
Gal shared, “It was a unique experience for me as a woman to see strong, confident, and beautiful women who can take care of themselves on screen.”
She expressed her surprise at seeing such a portrayal and mentioned the lack of similar representation in the past.
